Art exhibition by Louise HeymansArt exhibition by Louise Heymans

Louise Heymans creates atmospheric and detailed visual worlds for children and adults. She is particularly interested in printmaking techniques such as woodcut and etching, especially mezzotint. The etching plate is roughened with a finely serrated cradle knife until it is covered with a dense grid of tiny indentations and prints in a deep dark color. The artist uses fine scrapers and polishing steels to bring out the brightness. This creates nuanced, velvety tones. Unusual perspectives and light situations inspire her works, which have already won awards from the Hans Meid Foundation for Book Art and at the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna. She often places forms, structures and surfaces found in nature and architecture in new and surprising contexts. At the Kunstverein Linz, Louise Heymans is showing illustrations from her picture and artist books as well as free graphic works.Louise Heymans creates atmospheric and detailed visual worlds for children and adults. Linz Summer FestivalLinz Summer Festival

On Friday, June 14, it's time again - the great event series "Linz Summer Festival" starts the new season. It starts at 6 pm, because on this evening not only music lovers will get their money's worth, but also sports-loving soccer fans. The band "Revenant Tanner" will kick things off. The band from the north of Cologne has not yet been able to decide which style their music belongs to. Between folk and bluegrass, sounds from country, soul and pop are always mixed in, creating a special sound experience. The five musicians have a good mood in their luggage that you can't escape. The show continues with a band that could hardly be more international, "Los Manolos". The musicians come from Spain, Italy, Sri Lanka and Barbados and have dedicated themselves to typical Spanish and Latin American music. By popular demand, the band is once again visiting the Buttermarkt and promises great musical fireworks this time too! From 9 p.m., it will be "Germany, olé!", as the opening match of the European Football Championship 2024 of the German national team can be watched in a cozy atmosphere at the popular public viewing. A well-rounded evening also includes good food. And, as always, this will be provided by the Linz gastronomy around the Linz Buttermarkt. In addition to delicious antipasti, pizza, pasta, grilled sausages and Italian wines, the refreshing Kölsch beer and sparkling cocktails are of course a must. Look forward to a varied program of events from 6 pm, embedded in the historic, cosy Buttermarkt.
